WSU Applebaum Alumni Scholarship Award

The Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Alumni Scholarship Award honors a graduate who has made a significant and sustained contribution to basic science, clinical, and/or educational research and/or their respective profession for at least 10 years. 

Award criteria

The nominee's contributions will be assessed by:

• The nominee must have graduated from a program within WSU Applebaum
• The impact and range of the nominee's contribution to their profession
• Level of distinction achieved by nominee in their respective profession
• Level of significant scholarly contributions in at least one of the following areas:
  • Publication record
  • Grantsmanship
  • Local/regional/national presentations
  • Record of mentorship or serving as a role model
  • Provided significant leadership in academia, industry, or professional practice
  • Received awards for practice, research, or education

Award recognition

• The Alumni Scholarship Award winner will be asked to be the keynote speaker at the annual WSU Applebaum College Research Day held the following year.
  • If the selected recipient is not able to accept the invitation to attend College Research Day, the College Research Committee will select another recipient. This provision does not apply to selected recipients experiencing an emergency situation that prevents them from attending the meeting to accept the award.
• The Alumni Scholarship Award winner will receive an honorarium and award.

Nomination process

Nominations should be submitted through the online nomination portal by Oct. 1, 2023.

To nominate a potential awardee, please complete the nomination form, which requires the following uploads: 

• Two (2) letters of recommendation detailing the relationship of the nominator to the nominee and specifically focusing on the strengths of the nominee in relation to the award criteria (not to exceed 3 pages)
• Nominee's curriculum vitae

Nominate a WSU Applebaum graduate

The recipient will be contacted in November 2023 for recognition at the October 2024 College Research Day.
