How to apply

Individuals interested in applying to the NA program must submit an application to the  Centralized Application System (CAS).

Centralized Application System: Available February 1 to June 1

The NA program at Wayne State University participates in the Centralized Application Service, known as NursingCAS. The program must receive a submitted CAS application on or before June 1 and verified by CAS by July 1 in order to consider students for admission. Applications submitted to CAS after June 1 and verified by CAS after the July 1 deadline will not be considered. The application can be found by clicking the hyperlink above and selecting Fall of the current year. Information about CAS and the applicant help center may be found here

It is highly recommended that you submit your CAS application sooner rather than later to ensure timely submission and review of all items by CAS. Students applying through CAS should submit their application 6 weeks in advance of deadlines listed, as it can take CAS several weeks to verify your application. Unverified CAS applications are considered incomplete and will not be reviewed. NOTE:  PLEASE CHECK WITH CAS PERIODICALLY UNTIL YOU CONFIRM THAT (1) ALL DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AND (2) YOUR APPLICATION STATUS IS VERIFIED.

Applicant Personal Statement Submitted to CAS

A Professional Statement is required — a summary (1-2 pages) double-spaced highlighting your professional nursing career. Please include reasons for desiring the nurse anesthesia profession. Please upload your personal statement in the documents tab of the WSU NA section.

Applicant References Submitted to CAS

Three (3) professional references are required— two (2) from current ICU RN co-workers and one (1) from your immediate RN ICU supervisor. You will send the requests electronically in CAS to the three individuals you want to complete them and these individuals must submit their completed recommendations electronically via the Centralized Application System.
