During the Kappa Psi Great Lakes Province Fall Assembly last semester, Wayne State’s Mu Omicron Pi chapter took home several awards, including the Attendance and Best Chapter Report awards. Brother Steven Conway was honored with the Kappa Psi Dedication Award for his achievements in academic performance, pharmacy leadership and exemplifying fraternity ideals. Brother Joseph Paul Javier was granted the Kappa Psi Community Advancement of the Profession of Pharmacy Award for his efforts vaccinating medically underserved communities and work guiding health care policy as a legislative intern for the Michigan House of Representatives to lower the cost of life-saving prescription medications.

The chapter aims to raise awareness about opioid abuse disorder, decrease its stigma, and educate Wayne State University’s pharmacy and health science students in the use of naloxone rescue kits.

Kappa Psi is the oldest and largest pharmacy fraternity in the world, with more than 6,000 student members and over 87,000 alumni members. Kappa Psi’s mission is to develop leaders with a passion for service to their community while creating lifelong professional connections.
