Wayne State PharmD student participates in international town hall with Bill, Chelsea Clinton

First-year Wayne State University Doctor of Pharmacy student Joseph Paul Javier participated in the 12th annual Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) meeting, a virtual convening of students, government leaders, and health experts from around the world hosted by President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton on Saturday, April 18.

The program included opportunities for students to hear from government and health leaders, have their questions answered by President Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, collaborate with other students, and respond to a new challenge to build Commitments to Action that respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Javier was one of a handful of university students from around the world to ask a question to the Clintons and have it answered during the meeting (watch below). He represented Wayne State, WSU Applebaum, and the City of Detroit exceedingly well – and even wore his white coat!
