WSU Applebaum Radiation Therapy Technology Program Director Jeannetta Greer named Educator of the Year by Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists
The Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists named WSU Applebaum RTT Program Director Jeannetta Greer Educator of the Year during their 68th Annual Meeting and Education Conference in Bay City this week.
“This is a great honor for a great educator,” said Associate Dean for Health Sciences Sara Maher. “We are so proud of Jeannetta for receiving the Educator of the Year award. She has done amazing work since coming to WSU.”
Greer was nominated by her students, with additional support from Wayne State faculty recommendations.
“This was well deserved,” said Dean Brian Cummings. “I am very proud of our RTT program and all Jeannetta does.”
Also at the conference, the MSRT awarded WSU Applebaum RTT senior Anna Ganey a scholarship, and seniors Zach Adkins and Taylor Makowicki won awards for their scientific essays. See more pics on Flickr.

Radiation therapists have a unique opportunity to blend the knowledge and skills of mathematics, science and psychology in their daily work. Radiation therapists operate sophisticated radiation equipment to treat malignant tissue, assist in designing cancer treatment through the use of 3D computer-generated calculations, recognize when a patient is having additional medical problems that require a doctor’s attention and provide psychological support for patients who are dealing with the stress of their illness. The bachelor of science in Radiation Therapy Technology is offered through Wayne State’s Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with an application deadline of Nov. 30.
