Food & Beverage Policy

  1. Only clear water, in a container which seals, is acceptable to consume in any EACPHS classroom or auditorium during scheduled instructional times.
  2. Food items cannot be consumed in EACPHS classrooms or auditoriums during scheduled instructional time.
  3. Food or non-alcoholic beverages are prohibited to be delivered to a designated classroom, auditorium, or the Learning Resource Center (Applebaum Building).
  4. Small snacks and non-alcoholic beverages in a container which seals, are permitted within the Learning Resource Center (Applebaum Building).
  5. Consuming food or non-alcoholic beverages within the Student Commons & student lounges (Applebaum Building) and lunchroom #5 (Mortuary Science Building) are permitted.
  6. Food and non-alcoholic beverages may be approved for consumption within a non-carpeted classroom during organized student activities meetings. Approval should be requested upon reserving classroom space.
  7. Placing discarded food, containers and other waste in the receptacle is the responsibility of everyone involved within the consumption, meeting, or activity where food and beverages are present.

It is expected that each individual behaves in a manner consistent with the WSU student code of conduct and prevailing community standards. Board of Governors (BoG) Statute § 2.85.06, "Alcoholic Beverages Use on Campus", states "The use of alcoholic beverages in expressly prohibited in classrooms, lecture halls, laboratories, the libraries, the chapel and within buildings where athletic events, lectures and concerts are held." (Statute § 2.85.06.010)
