Occupational therapy student Justin Bohl featured in new Wayne State commercial

Justin Bohl, a student in the occupational therapy (OT) class of 2017, is featured in "Board Room," one of the new commercials in Wayne State's "Aim Higher" campaign. Bohl, who has been skateboarding for 20 years, said he was excited when he learned he'd been cast in the ad.

"I went to the audition not knowing what I was auditioning for. I simply knew it involved skateboarding, so I thought I'd give it a shot. It wasn't until afterward that I found out the audition was for a Wayne State commercial," he said. "Participating the commercial was fun. During the two days of filming, I just skated around Detroit like I normally do, while also getting the opportunity to rep Wayne State. I was hyped!"

Originally from Birmingham, Michigan, and now a resident of the North Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, Bohl said he appreciates the OT program.

"The program has been phenomenal so far. I've been extremely impressed with the staff, curriculum, and overall experience," he said. "Admission is pretty competitive, but I would recommend that students interested in occupational therapy not be intimidated or shy away from pursuing it for that reason. I would encourage them to do their best in prerequisite classes like anatomy and just go for it!"
