Mary Beth O'Connell publishes second edition of comprehensive book on women's health

Wayne State Pharmacy Professor Mary Beth O'ConnellProfessor of Pharmacy Practice Mary Beth O'Connell, PharmD, has just completed the second edition of her co-edited book, Women's Health Across the Lifespan: A Pharmacotherapeutic Approach. It has been published as an ebook in AccessPharmacy, which all Wayne State University students, faculty and staff can access at no charge. In addition, about 70 percent of college of pharmacy use AccessPharmacy, giving O'Connell's important reference book to the majority of the nation's student pharmacists for free. 

"I hope this book becomes a good source of information to improve women's health in many health curriculums," O'Connell said. "It is the culmination of the impressive commitment of many editors, authors and reviewers."

Along with contributing chapters of the book, O'Connell is the first editor; her colleague Judith Smith, PharmD, is the second. WSU Applebaum Dean Catherine Lysack and WSU College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Associate Dean and Professor of Sociology Heather Dillaway are co-authors on chapter 3, "Psychosocial and Socioeconomic Factors Influencing Women’s Health."
