Lynette Moser named chair of Department of Pharmacy Practice

Lynette MoserAssociate Professor (Clinical) Lynette Moser has been appointed chair of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Department of Pharmacy Practice. Moser has been serving as interim chair.

Moser earned her PharmD degree from the University of Illinois. She completed a residency at the University of Utah Hospital, followed by a cardiovascular pharmacotherapy fellowship at the University of Utah.

She joined Wayne State University in the Department of Pharmacy Practice in a joint faculty/practice position with St. John Hospital and Medical Center. She then moved to a joint faculty/practice position at Harper University Hospital.

While in this position, Moser assumed administrative responsibilities in the department with her appointment as director of professional and academic development. Moving forward, she was appointed associate chair and subsequently interim chair of Pharmacy Practice.

Moser has received numerous teaching awards, chaired the Curriculum Committee, provided leadership in the curriculum revision process, and in the collaborative development and implementation of active learning in the curriculum. Moser has been a long-time mentor to students and, particularly in her recent positions, provided support and guidance to faculty in their development. She is a long-time faculty advisor to Rho Chi and was recognized with a National Advisor of the Year Award.

Moser has contributed to the literature in the areas of pharmacy practice, medication therapy, and academic pharmacy including active-learning pedagogy. She is actively involved in local and state pharmacy organizations, most recently serving as president of the Southeastern Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

"Lynette has been an integral contributor to the continued development and the high quality of our PharmD program," said Associate Dean of Pharmacy Richard Lucarotti. "We welcome her to her new position as chair."
