LKS raises over $3,000 for Project Hope with 5K, Hygeia Day

Last week, Wayne State University's Omicron Chapter of Lambda Kappa Sigma hosted two events in support of Project Hope, the pharmacy fraternity's national philanthropy that works to empower health care workers facing the world’s greatest health crises to build resilient communities and a healthier, more equitable world.

On April 13, 2022, LKS hosted Dr. Regina McClinton, PhD, CSP (above, center in light blue t-shirt), who led a CE and implicit bias training on minimizing health disparities and promoting equity through pharmacy action items. Along with all LKS members, nearly 200 pharmacists and technicians joined this event. McClinton is the chief officer for diversity, equity, and inclusion for the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy.

"We were honored to have Dr. McClinton share her expertise on the topic and learn from her," said LKS President Jewel Konja. "This event was also to celebrate Hygeia Day that all LKS chapters celebrate nationwide to recognize Hygeia, the Greek goddess of good health."

All proceeds from this CE and donations collected at the event – more than $1,000 – were given to Project Hope.
