Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Doctor of Pharmacy candidate Morgan Mrowca has been awarded the Cora E. Craven Educational Grant from the Lambda Kappa Sigma Educational Trust. Students from 83 LKS chapters across the U.S. apply for these highly competitive scholarships, which reward leadership, scholarship, and dedication to the LKS fraternity and the profession of pharmacy.

Mrowca serves as president of LKS Omicron, which earned the 2022 Chapter of the Year award among other honors during the pharmacy fraternity’s national convention last summer.

She was nominated by Professor of Pharmacy Practice and LKS Omicron chapter faculty advisor Dr. Mary Beth O’Connell. “Morgan truly believes in the mission and vision of LKS, and devotes much time to make it happen,” O’Connell said. “Maintaining a 3.9 GPA is extremely impressive in our very rigorous PharmD program, especially in light of her LKS leadership and commitment to three other student organizations, all while working two internship positions and being selected as head intern at her hospital site this year!”

Mrowca, who says she is honored to be part of LKS, also tutors grade school and high school students in math, is active in Rho Chi by serving as secretary and tutoring fellow student pharmacists, and, according to O’Connell, has a positive attitude that inspires cheerful teamwork in any situation. Congratulations, Morgan!
