My Tran wins Lambda Kappa Sigma Alumni Scholarship

My Tran, PharmD candidate at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health SciencesLambda Kappa Sigma member My Tran (P3) was selected to receive the 2019 LKS Omicron Alumni Scholarship of $500.

Each year, the LKS Omicron alumni chapter awards this scholarship to a member of LKS Omicron Collegiate Chapter who demonstrates service and leadership within LKS, as well as academic achievement, community service involvement and participation in extracurricular activities. The LKS Omicron alumni chapter has awarded this scholarship for more than 50 years. 

Tran is a PharmD candidate in the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Class of 2020. She is chair of Operation Diabetes, an initiative of the WSU American Pharmacists Association; LKS chair for professionalism; and vice president of external affairs for the Wayne State SCCP-ACCP, the student network of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She is also a pharmacy intern at Henry Ford Health System.

In her letter of recommendation, Professor of Pharmacy Practice Mary Beth O’Connell wrote, “Ms. Tran has shown spirit, loyalty, insight, leadership, and professionalism in all aspects of LKS sisterhood and fraternity life. Her positive attitude, spirit, and politeness are energizing, and her appreciation and value of her sisters enhances chapter growth, productivity, and diversity.”  

Tran said, "I am so happy and grateful for the continued support given by our alumni chapter. This award further motivates me to do my very best, and I look forward to giving back to the future sisters of the Omicron chapter of LKS as a soon-to-be alumna."
