Dr. Linda Jaber to share expertise at Middle Eastern/North African Refugee and Immigrant Health Equity symposium

Wayne State University's Center for Health Equity and Community Knowledge in Urban Populations (CHECK-UP) and the Karmanos Cancer Institute's Office of Cancer Health Equity & Community Engagement are pleased to present their third 2022 Community Engaged Research Symposium, Middle Eastern/North African (MENA) Refugee and Immigrant Health Equity, on Nov. 1 and 2, 2022, from 5-8 p.m.

Dr. Linda JaberThe symposium will consist of brief presentations from researchers and community members, followed by a panel-led discussion. WSU Applebaum Professor of Pharmacy Practice Linda Jaber will share her expertise during the segment concerning social determinants of MENA, refugee and immigrant health. 

Other topics include: Stress, trauma, health and wellness across the lifespan; access and equity; policy and research.

Each day will conclude with agenda setting and next steps to help move work forward in the space of MENA, refugee and immigrant health equity. This highly engaging symposium will serve as the beginning steps of the MENA, Refugee, and Immigrant Health Equity Research Network.
