GALLERY: Wayne State STEM Day 2023Wayne State University hosted nearly 2,500 students and teachers from 27 metro Detroit middle schools for a day of hands-on STEM activities across campus. WSU Applebaum participated with interactive sessions on medical laboratory science, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, radiation therapy technology and radiologic technology. Students had a blast concocting their own Warrior Lotion, helping a skeleton move, using surgical techniques to remove objects from Jell-O and more!

Prof. Preethy Samuel part of new $400K Healthy Aging Initiative grantAssociate Professor of Occupational Therapy Preethy Samuel will be the project evaluator on "Hope for Aging Caregivers," which aims to improve the lives of aging family caregivers of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by implementing a peer-to-peer approach that coordinates care, yields cost savings and fosters system change. The project received a $400,000 grant from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund's Healthy Aging Initiative.
