"Dr. Kilgore is an expert in vaccine research and infectious diseases and has also led vaccine related clinical trials in the United States and internationally," said WHSO President Basma Alyashae about why the organization approached Dr. Kilgore to lead Monday's seminar. "He has previous experience working at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and is a current expert in the COVID-19 vaccine efforts in Michigan. Furthermore, Dr. Kilgore is a co-principal investigator in the vaccine trials and COVID-19 trials at Henry Ford Health Systems."

"Through mass vaccination, pharmacists are now at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic. We need to be well-informed about the different vaccines that are being approved, their study results, the risks and how different communities perceive these vaccines," Hussein Safaoui of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity said. "We need to be advocates for our patients and communities. We are thankful to have an expert like Dr. Kilgore speak at our upcoming seminar and we encourage our fellow PharmD students and other healthcare students to attend."
