Join or support the WSU Applebaum Heart Walk team
The 26th annual Metro Detroit Heart Walk and Stroke Walk/Run will be held on Wayne State University’s campus on Saturday, May 18. The Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences invites students, faculty, staff and friends to join our team or donate to the cause as we walk to raise funds that support scientific research.
The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier fundraising campaign that welcomes more than 1 million people in over 300 cities across the United States to take a stand against heart diseases and stroke. This year, Wayne State's Vice President for Research Steve Lanier is chairing the event.
The Heart Walk is a celebration of the American Heart Association's Healthy for Good movement.
"This initiative is designed to drive a mission around personalized health and awareness to live healthier lives, inspire lasting change and unite our community around the idea that making a small change today can create a difference for generations to come," said WSU President M. Roy Wilson in a message to the university community. "Wayne State University plays a critical role in the Healthy for Good movement every day through research, patient care and student training."
