Advocate for the pharmacy profession by spending a day at the Michigan capitol building!

On Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., pharmacy students from Wayne State, Ferris State and the University of Michigan - plus pharmacists from across the state - will have the chance to meet with legislators and their staff at their offices in Lansing.

Pharmacy Day at the Capitol (PDAC) provides an opportunity for student pharmacists to help bring awareness and education to legislators on the pharmacist's value as a health care professional. Volunteers are given unique one-on-one time with Michigan's elected officials. In addition, participants have a chance to utilize talking points to discuss key pharmacy issues with lawmakers. This event is held in conjunction with Michigan Pharmacists Association's Medication Disposal Event at the Capitol, which provides a venue for the public to safely dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications and showcases the value of pharmacists in keeping patients and communities safe.

Bus transportation is provided. To sign up for bus transportation to PDAC, you must be a member of the Student Michigan Pharmacists Association (SMPA). Seats are limited.

PDAC meets the requirement for a professional event for the pharmacy co-curriculum.

Register by Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, at http://www.michiganpharmacists.org/2019pdac.
