MLive: WSU Mortuary Science alumnus Michael B. Johnson honored as 2019 Giant Among Giants
Michael B. Johnson Sr., a Wayne State University EACPHS Mortuary Science alumnus, has been named 2019's Giant Among Giants in the annual Grand Rapids Community College awards program.
The Giant Among Giants Award is presented to an individual or organization whose achievements are felt throughout and beyond the Grand Rapids community.
Johnson has been the owner of Brown's Funeral Home in Grand Rapids since 1985, and the owner of Toombs Funeral Home in Muskegon Heights since 2008.
He earned a 4.0 GPA at Wayne State, and while here, received the Richard M. Kelly Memorial Award for his extraordinary skills in embalming and restorative work.
