Diabetes affects 30 million children and adults in the United States (about 10% of the population and rising), with about 1 million in Michigan. It is the most common endocrine disorder and the leading cause of heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, nontraumatic lower-limb amputations and new cases of blindness among adults.

Those who aren't able to participate are invited to donate through the Wayne Care team website.
