CLS students experience anatomy IPE led by pathologists' assistant faculty
On Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, 18 juniors in the WSU Applebaum Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) undergraduate program experienced an interactive renal anatomy demonstration by Master of Science in Pathologists' Assistant Program Director and Assistant Clinical Professor Lou Kramer.
Corresponding with the CLS curriculum, this week's interprofessional education (IPE) experience included eight stations with various urinary tract organs presented and discussed with disease correlation.
"Laboratory professionals such as clinical laboratory scientists and pathologists’ assistants must develop a strong supportive network for the medical field since they work closely together," said CLS Assistant Clinical Professor MaryAnne Stewart. "Providing the pathologists' assistant perspective of renal anatomy enhances learning for CLS students and interprofessional collaboration in the future."
