For the ninth year in a row, the Fighting AIDS with Nutrition (FAWN) organization will host a much-anticipated baseball game fundraiser to support its philanthropic work. FAWN is dedicated to providing fortified liquid nutrition to support those living with HIV/AIDS and other catastrophic illnesses in the local community and around the world.

BOGO tickets are available for WSU students for this year’s FAWN baseball game fundraiser happening on Saturday, June 25, at Jimmy John’s Field in Utica.

This year's fundraiser will take place on Saturday, June 25, at 7:05 p.m. at Jimmy John's Field in Utica. The game will see 2021 United Shore League Professional Champions, the Utica Unicorns, face-off versus the Eastside Beavers.

"It's guaranteed to be a fun evening for the entire family and support a great cause as we watch a rematch of the 2021 top league contenders," said FAWN board member Greg Baise. "Exciting baseball! This league has produced 45 players who went on to the majors!" Baise is also an executive board member of the Wayne County Pharmacists Association.

Tickets to the FAWN 9th annual baseball game fundraiser are $30 per person and include free hotdogs, chips and soda. Wayne State students can take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free promotion while tickets last. Profits on each ticket will go to support Fighting AIDS with Nutrition. The final day to purchase tickets is Saturday, April 30.

For tickets or information, please contact Greg Baise by phone at 313-632-4962 or email gbaiserph@gmail.com.

PharmD student and FAWN member Daniyal Nasir said, “It is important to give back to the community, and FAWN provides the opportunity to reach underserved patients living with HIV/AIDS who may lack adequate quality care. Liquid nutrition is especially important for the health of HIV patients due to the body’s increased energy requirements often in conjunction with a reduced appetite. Proper nutrition is important for their treatment therapy and overall health.”

Incoming P3 student Victoria Espinoza added, “This year’s baseball fundraiser is going to be a great time for family and friends. Plus we get to support a great cause. Thanks to the Wayne County Pharmacists Association, FAWN is offering tickets for students at a great price. Tickets are for Grandstand seating, so we get a great view of the action. We hope to see as many Wayne State Warriors as possible for the June 25 game!”

Even if you are unable to attend, you may still show your support for FAWN with a donation. Know that your donation will help bring liquid nutrition to persons living with HIV/AIDS.
