Robert Louis-Ferdinand of Southfield, Michigan died September 13, 2015 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was 78 years old. Robert was born in New York, New York on August 3, 1937 to Louise (nee Angevin) and Joseph Louis-Ferdinand. Robert wrote a note on his baby photo to one of his children: "When I posed for this photo, I had no idea of the wonderful adventures awaiting me nor could I anticipate the joys I'd experience with your mother, my children and grandchildren. I thank God for all of you." Love Dad. His adventures included being a member of the American Society of Pharmacology + Experimental Therapeutics and the Society of Toxicology. Robert Louis-Ferdinand of Southfield, Michigan died September 13, 2015 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was 78 years old. Robert was born in New York, New York on August 3, 1937 to Louise (nee Angevin) and Joseph Louis-Ferdinand.

Robert was a Starbucks enthusiast who enjoyed world travel, world cruising, ethnic foods, and Indian music. He couldn't refuse a good game of hearts and would stick the last card played to his forehead to torment his opponents. Robert was very active in nursing home ministry, visiting, praying and giving Eucharist (and candy) to patients. He also enjoyed being a member of the Christ Our Light Catholic Church Choir and importing Maryland blue crabs for family Crabfests.

Robert’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and he was thrilled to have had the opportunity to meet his great-granddaughter. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Robert was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Camille, and his loving children, Joseph (Shellie) Louis-Ferdinand, Genevieve (Brian) Skory, Amelia Louis-Ferdinand, and Robert (Carrie) Louis-Ferdinand. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Andre Louis-Ferdinand, Tylor Skory, Danielle Louis-Ferdinand, Joey Louis-Ferdinand, Gabriella Skory, Devin Louis-Ferdinand, Sydney Louis-Ferdinand, Cole Skory, Noah Louis-Ferdinand, Eden Skory, Leah Louis-Ferdinand, Eli Louis-Ferdinand, and Rebecca Louis-Ferdinand., 2 great-grandchildren, Marcus Richards and Mira Louis-Ferdinand and siblings, George (Marie-André) Louis-Ferdinand, Julien Louis-Ferdinand, and Elizabeth Walwyn.

Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.), Wednesday 4-8pm. Prayers Wednesday at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ, Our Light! Catholic Church, 2345 Coolidge, Troy, Thursday 10:30am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am. Burial will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  Memorials appreciated to American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, Illinois 60674.
