PAS students learn ultrasound techniques from DMC doctor

This week marked the first meeting of the WSU Physician Assistant Ultrasound Examination (PAUSE) group, a student-organized group of second-year Physician Assistant Studies students who want to learn about how to use ultrasound at the bedside.

Dr. Luda Kait-Vlisides from DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital was the guest lecturer and led a workshop on ultrasound physics and “knobology.” In the first photo below, she is showing students how to assess for “lung slide” to evaluate for a pneumothorax (collapsed lung).
