EACPHS takes poster award at Michigan Physical Therapy Association conference

Wayne State Physical Therapy at the MPTA ConferencePhysical therapy students and faculty from the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences attended the Michigan Physical Therapy Association fall conference Oct. 5-6, 2018, in Traverse City. Notably, one research team brought home the Best Student Poster award for "Physical Markers of Functional Fitness in Persons with Dementia and Their Family Care Partners."

At the conference, students and faculty from the college were part of three presentations and six posters. In addition to the winning poster noted above, EACPHS research included:

  • Traditional versus Nontraditional Anatomy Instruction Among Doctor of Physical Therapy Students: A Comparison Study

Eleven students attended with the support of travel scholarships from the Physical Therapy Founders Endowment, which was established by Beverly Schmoll, former dean and member of the first graduating class in physical therapy.
