Pathologists’ Assistant students learn new imaging technology

The Wayne State Pathologists’ Assistant program, part of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, recently invited Kubtec Medical Imaging to lecture and train its students on their latest technology.

Kubtec is a pioneer in 3D breast specimen tomosynthesis for breast cancer treatment, 2D digital x-ray imaging, and augmented intelligence and voice control systems used in the pathology laboratory.

Students were able to use cadaver anatomy organs to look for evidence of pathology and differentiate between healthy and pathologic dissemination in tissue.

Program Director and Assistant Professor VéraLúcia Mendes-Kramer organized this hands-on opportunity for students that resulted in a certificate in this state-of-the art technology.
