Register to vote at Applebaum Friday, Sept. 28

Not yet registered to vote? You'll have a chance right here in the WSU Applebaum building on Friday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students from SCOPA -- Students Collaborating on Policy and Advocacy -- a committee of the Wayne State chapter of the American Pharmacist Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), are hosting a voter registration drive in the EACPHS Commons on the lower level.
"We feel that advocating for our profession is an integral aspect of ensuring easily accessible and quality health care for everyone in America, and that one of the easiest and most effective ways to accomplish that goal is to exercise our right to vote for candidates who support these ideals," said Derek Volgyi, APhA-ASP vice president for policy and a member of SCOPA.
Tuesday, Oct. 9, is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election. To encourage busy students to participate, the group will provide the forms at the drive and mail them to each applicant's respective city clerk.

"With the tight schedules that many of our programs share, we want to make it easy for our fellow EACPHS students to register before the deadline if they haven't done so already," Volgyi added.
If you're not yet registered to vote, please stop by the SCOPA voter registration drive on Friday. For more information, email wayne.state.asp@gmail.com.
