Mary K. Clark to appear on CBS's Michigan Matters this Sunday morning
Mary K. Clark, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at WSU Applebaum, will appear on Michigan Matters this Sunday, Sept. 1, at 11:30 a.m. on CBS Detroit Channel 62. A state-appointed AARP volunteer, she will discuss smart money habits for seniors.
Clark is the lead volunteer on the AARP Detroit Financial Security Leadership Team, which also includes Dolores A. Sturdivant, Ramonda W. Hollenquest, Dr. Truman Hudson, Leslie Wilson-Smith and Sam Cannionier.
"We are trained to facilitate discussions with the community using a program called Finances 50+, which is sponsored by and developed in collaboration with AARP Foundation and Charles Schwab Foundation," Clark said.
The three-part program is designed to help people make and keep smart money habits facilitated by a trained AARP volunteer. It covers:
- budgeting and goal setting
- taking charge of credit and debt
- developing a savings plan and protecting your assets
These workshops are provided to community groups, civic organizations and faith-based organizations, free of charge. If you are interested in learning how your organization can partner with the Detroit Financial Security Leadership Team to plan a workshop, call the AARP Detroit area resource center at 313-832-6846 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to have a member of the Financial Security Team contact you.
