CAPS offers stress control workshop, individual counseling at Applebaum building

Wayne State University Counseling and Psychological Services - CAPS for short - offers several resources for students right here in the Applebaum building at 259 Mack Avenue.

We are pleased to have CAPS University Counselor Patti Dixon on site for free consultations with EACPHS students. Sessions take place in our first-floor Student Affairs suite. Patti is available for appointments in our building Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Also at the Applebaum building, CAPS is holding a free, five-week workshop focused on creative and effective ways to manage academic stress and performance anxiety. The first meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 30, from noon to 1 p.m. in room 1366.

To schedule an individual counseling session or sign up for the stress control workshop, contact Patti directly at 313-577-3243 or dq6546@wayne.edu.

Meditation/prayer room

The EAPCHS Office of Student Affairs suite also offers a quaint and cozy space for students, faculty, staff and administrators to use for quiet reflection, meditation or prayer. Enter the Student Affairs door that is closest to the Pharmuseum, and you will see a sign indicating the Quiet Meditation and Reflection Room (1605). This shared space is carpeted and contains three chairs and a small table. It is available for use from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note: This room is not to be used as a study room.
