- Apply to the online Mortuary Science program
Online program benefits
Access your classes when you want and from where you want. Life is busy, and online courses allow you the flexibility to complete the program still balancing work and family life. Take all of your classes online or have a hybrid schedule of online and traditional classes.
Out-of-state students who enroll in the fully-online program pay in-state tuition regardless of their state of residence.
A Regionally accredited bachelor's degree
Do you want to practice in a state that requires a bachelor's degree or will soon require one? Do you want the ability to transfer your mortuary science credits toward a graduate or other degree? WSU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and credits earned in the Mortuary Science Program are fully transferable.
Faculty and peer interaction
Taking an online course doesn't mean you have to sacrifice the ability to interact and collaborate with your instructors and fellow students. Through virtual office hours, video conferencing, discussion boards and more, you will have access to an academic community built on experience and innovation.
Faculty and advisors who are accessible and are committed to your success. Technical support and all of the research and student services resources of a major university.
Whether you have never worked in funeral service or are continuing a tradition that spans generations, you will belong at WSU. Wayne State's students come from 49 states and 65 countries around the globe and minority and international students represent nearly 40% of undergraduate enrollment.
Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the American Board of Funeral Service Education, WSU's Mortuary Science Program has built its reputation of excellence in funeral service education for over 75 years. Over 95% of graduates secure employment within six months of graduation.
