- Biosafety Training
- February 9 2012 at 1:00 PMGordon H. Scott HallBiosafety Training This training is required annually for all employees who work with materials that are handled at Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2), including work with human blood, body fluids, tissue, cell lines, animals infected with human pathogens, mammalian viruses, etc. Employees who have taken this class at least once at WSU may take the annual refresher on-line. Topics covered include: Explanation of Biosafety Principles and Levels from CDC/NIH Contents of the WSU Biosafety Manual & Exposure Control Plan Explanation of bloodborne infectious diseases Procedures to follow in an exposure incident Safe work practices Personal protective equipment Use of biological safety cabinets and other safety equipment Biohazard waste disposal rules, and much more. - Introduction to WSU's Controlled Substances Program
- February 13 2012 at 1:30 PMScott HallThis is an information session on the new controlled substance program at the university. Researchers using controlled substances in non-clinical settings will learn about the program, including; licensing, purchasing, storage, auditing, recordkeeping, and disposal rules. This does NOT APPLY to controlled substances used at WSU in human clinical trials/treatment.
- Basic Radiation Safety Training
- February 14 2012 at 1:00 PMOffice of Environmental Health & Safety This training is required for all faculty, staff, and students using radioactive materials in the laboratory. The lecture is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The following Monday all students must take and pass a written Radiological Health Exam. Discuss with your PI the radioactive materials with which you will be working before coming to the training. Please register on Pipeline from the Training Seminars and Workshops link under your employee tab.
